So you want to Learn How to
Fly a Helicopter?

You've Found the Right Helicopter Flight School!

Our course consists of three stages of instruction in helicopter operations. The Chief Flight instructor will conduct a stage check at the completion of each level of training to determine if the student has satisfactorily met the objectives outlined in the Flight Training Curriculum for each phase of training. The following is a brief description of each stage:

STAGE I
During this stage, the student is introduced to basic helicopter maneuvers and in-flight emergency procedures. Autorotations and simulated emergency landings are demonstrated and practiced to prepare the student for safe operation in solo flight. The student will accomplish at least one supervised solo flight during this stage.

STAGE II
The student will increase his/her proficiency in both dual and solo flight during this phase. She/he will also be introduced to maximum performance maneuvers and high density altitude operations. Operations at landing sites other than airports will also be practiced.

STAGE III
During this stage the student will be introduced to cross-country flights. Training will be received in pilotage/dead reckoning navigation, cross-country pre-flight and planning, weather forecasts and VOR/ADF tracking procedures. A review of all maneuvers will be followed by a final stage check by the Chief Flight Instructor to determine if the student can safely perform each maneuver as a Private Pilot.
